General Public Tours

On many days that high visitation is expected (most holidays & summer weekends) our team of dedicated docents offer tours to the General Public for a suggested donation of $5 to $10/person (children under 13, service members and veterans/ RPCVs not expected to contribute). To find out when and if a general public tour will be available during your visit to the Armstrong Redwoods SNR please call our office at (707) 869-9177. These tours generally meet at the Lizzie Armstrong Welcome Center at the front of the park. Should you take part, please give your donation directly to your docent or to the volunteer at the Welcome Center stipulating it is a tour donation (center opens at 11AM most days). If your party is larger than 10, please make a reservation for a group tour (see below).

Group Tours in Your State Parks

Docent-led Group Tours are available at Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve and at Sonoma Coast State Park. Our docents are knowledgeable about the flora and fauna in the parks, the history, as well as the geologic features on the Sonoma Coast.

Reservations made less than a week in advance will not be accepted without special permission. The cost will be confirmed after you book your reservation. Please note that your tour is not confirmed until you receive an email confirmation from our Programs staff.

Tours are approx. 2 hours, but can be extended based on your group's needs (additional cost may apply) but it is difficult to shorten due to the distance to be covered to the major park attractions.
